Seeds of Hope Concert 2026: An Unforgettable Musical Journey Across Mountains and Oceans

Do you remember the students from Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, who graced the stage of the Seeds of Hope Concert 2025 at the Guangdong Art Theatre on 1 March last year?
That was their first time leaving the mountains. They had travelled more than a thousand kilometres to Guangzhou to perform with YCYW teachers and students. They played ancient yueqin melodies and sang traditional Yi folk songs, delivering a performance that blended Chinese and Western music and captivated the audience.
At that moment, music transcended language, and cultures resonated as one. This is the true spirit of “Seeds of Hope”.
Now, that same magic is coming to Beijing.
On 7 March, the much-anticipated Seeds of Hope Concert 2026 will be held at the Beijing Poly Theatre. As the largest YCYW music event of the year, this concert will create a wonderful musical experience for our community by bringing together talented music students from YCYW schools in the Chinese mainland; Hong Kong SAR; and Silicon Valley in the US, as well as students from Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
Imagine the harmony, Global rhythms will meet mountain folk songs, and innovative beats from Silicon Valley will blend with the timeless echoes of ancient Chinese instruments. The concert promises to be a moving celebration of cultural dialogue and connection.
The Seeds of Hope programme began 30 years ago as an on-campus fundraising effort to support reconstruction after earthquakes. It has developed into a charity that connects the character education of students with public welfare and educational assistance.
The Seeds of Hope programme has had a positive impact on various places in China, such as Lijiang, Yunnan Province; Ziyang, Sichuan Province; Qufu, Shandong Province; Baoding, Hebei Province; Shaoguan, Guangdong Province; Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, as well as in Manila, the Philippines. Through the construction of schools and the exchanges of teachers and students, the programme has brought faith and hope to children in these areas.
With your help, we will continue this mission in 2026.
We invite you to join us at the Seeds of Hope Concert 2026 to witness how talent can build bridges, connecting the world through music and love.
All proceed from the event will go to the YCYW Annual Fund, which directly supports the community service programme with our partner schools for the Yi ethnic group in Liangshan, Sichuan Province. Every contribution you make will directly turn into real opportunities for these students to leave their mountain communities, perform on stage, and develop friendships.
