    🔥 YCYW EDUCATIONAL LECTURE SERIES - 25/26 LECTURE 7

Topic: How Your Emotional Wellness Shapes Your Child's Voice

Many parents lament how difficult it is to communicate with their children: after lengthy discussions, their words either go in one ear and out the other, or provoke fierce rebuttals. Despite acting in their children's best interests, these interactions often strain relationships.

Truly effective parent-child communication serves as an emotional bridge and a gentle guiding force for a child's development.

The most effective communication between parents and children is never a one-way lecture where ‘I speak and you listen,’ nor is it about forcing obedience through authority. Instead, it is a two-way journey built upon the foundation of ‘understanding, respect, and empathy.’

YWIES Guangzhou Campus will host the lecture on 22th January from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

Featuring a dialogue between Ms Lucy Liu, Chinese Co-Principal of YWIES Guangzhou, and Ms Shirley Loo, General Secretary, Family Development Foundation.

      Sneak Peek at Lecture Highlights:

      • A child's emotions are not enemies to be vanquished, but rather the key to unlocking their inner world. When parents learn to view each emotional conflict as a “signal for help” from their child, they can transform from adversaries into growth coaches.
      • Effective parent-child communication allows children to flourish in an environment of love and understanding, while also fostering closer, more harmonious family bonds. This lecture focuses on how to assist children in managing their emotions and enhance positive parent-child communication to strengthen family relationships.
