    🔥 YCYW EDUCATIONAL LECTURE SERIES - 25/26 LECTURE 6

Topic: Educational Convictions in Uncertain Times

The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates once remarked: ‘The purpose of education lies not in imparting or instilling external, concrete knowledge and skills, but in awakening within the depths of the soul the dormant self-awareness and consciousness of life...’

The core elements influencing a child's development encompass the family environment, the school environment, the social environment, as well as the child's intrinsic motivation and psychological wellbeing. These factors interact and influence one another, collectively shaping the child's character and destiny. As parents and educators, we must remain constantly attentive to the changes and developments within these elements, providing children with a favourable environment for growth.

YCIS Chongqing Campus will host the lecture on 8th January from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

Featuring a dialogue between Ms Xiao Jie, Chinese Co-Principal of YCIS Chongqing, and Dr Zhang Ting, Associate Professor, Faculty of Psychology, Southwest University.

Every child is a unique individual, possessing distinct personalities, interests and talents. Therefore, we must tailor our teaching to each pupil, devising educational approaches suited to their particular characteristics and needs.

Education is not about indoctrination, but guidance; not oppression, but enlightenment; not imitation, but innovation. Let us work together to create an environment brimming with love and wisdom for our children's growth!
