    • We're thrilled to celebrate an outstanding achievement by a team of students from across the Yew Chung Yew Wah (YCYW) Education Network, including students from YCIS Hong Kong, YCIS Beijing, YCIS Shanghai Pudong, YCIS Shanghai Puxi, and YCIS Chongqing, who have been shortlisted among the Top 50 research proposals worldwide in the prestigious ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—น๐˜€ (๐—•๐—Ÿ๐Ÿฐ๐—ฆ) ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, organised by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the world's leading particle physics laboratory.

BL4S challenges secondary students to think like real scientists by designing experiments for particle accelerator facilities. This year, the team developed a ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ-๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ผ๐—ป "๐—ฉ๐—ผ๐—น๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—–๐—ฟ๐˜†๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜€", exploring advanced accelerator physics with potential applications in scientific research and medicine.

"Being shortlisted in the Top 50 globally is a tremendous achievement, reflecting the students' exceptional scientific ambition, technical understanding, creativity, and perseverance," said Dr Christopher Hurley, Director of Science, Technology, and Educational Futures at YCYW Education Network.

The achievement highlights YCYW's commitment to nurturing future innovators by encouraging students to participate in world-class competitions and pursue ambitious ideas beyond the classroom. Through mentorship from Dr Hurley and leading academics, including ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—œ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—–๐—ผ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ป, students gained valuable experience in authentic scientific research while deepening their understanding of cutting-edge STEM fields.

Equally remarkable was the collaboration behind the project. Over six months, 11 students from campuses across Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, and beyond worked together to develop and refine their proposal, demonstrating the strength of the YCYW network and the power of cross-campus learning.

This accomplishment showcases how YCYW brings together talented young minds, expert guidance, and global opportunities to inspire innovation, collaboration, and excellence on the world stage.
